Mädchenbüro, founded in 1996 in Frankfurt-Bockenheim, offers a full range of daily, intercultural support to 40 girls from an immigrant background. Not only are the girls supported in their school education and career choice (help with homework, private tuition on request, school holiday care, exam preparation and integration assistance), but lunch is provided every day and jointly prepared by the mothers and daughters. To the girls, Mädchenbüro means help, solidarity, sympathy, friendship, trust and the freedom of being different from others. With the support of KfW Stiftung, Mädchenbüro hopes to continue this programme and develop another facility in a different location.
