The Impact Factory programme entered the third round on 18 June 2020 with a record number of applications. From a total of 125 candidates from all over Germany, ten teams prevailed in the third selection procedure, and have now been officially accepted into the Impact Factory.

The selection process for the new batch was based on criteria such as problem relevance, degree of innovation, founder personality and the expected social impact. Together with the founding partners Beisheim Stiftung, Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, KfW Stiftung and the programme partners Der Paritätische NRW and WiloFoundation, Anthropia gGmbH selected ten start-ups for the two programme phases "Create-up" and "Scale-up". In addition, 15 new start-ups have been included in the Impact Factory's "Fellow" programme.

The business ideas of the 25 start-ups included in the programme, with a share of women of over forty percent, essentially address the areas of impact of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
